PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sizing agent for glass fibers which can effectively prevent the formation of fuzz in weaving glass fibers by an air jet weaver and sufficiently suppresses the generation of static electricity during weaving. SOLUTION: The sizing agent for glass fibers contains a reaction product of fatty acid reacted with an amine compound represented by formula (1), starch, an oil solution and water. In raw materials of the above reaction product, the ratio of the total mass (M<SB>F</SB>) of fatty acid to the total mass (M<SB>A</SB>) of the amine compound is M<SB>F</SB>/M<SB>A</SB>=2.1-2.6. Formula (1) is H<SB>2</SB>N(R<SP>1</SP>NH)<SB>n</SB>R<SP>1</SP>NH<SB>2</SB>, where R<SP>1</SP>is a 1-10C alkylene group and n is an integer of 0-10. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
