<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method to enable high manufacturing capacity and to still absolutely safely work and a cutting device to practice this method. <P>SOLUTION: A printed matter D is pressurized by a press beam 5 before cutting, an upper blade 6 and the press beam 5 are lifted up again after cutting and the cut printed matter D is transferred forward by a transfer device T. The press beam 5 is lifted up in advance of the upper blade 6 after cutting. The press beam 5 is lifted up in advance immediately after the upper blade 6 reaches a bottom dead center.
