PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information recording method and an apparatus which can additionally record new recording information while utilizing effectively a recording region of an information recording medium, while accurately performing continuous reproduction of old recording information and new recording information. SOLUTION: The information recording apparatus recording recording information in a recording medium with an error correction block unit consisting of a plurality of first recording units, is provided with a converting means converting the recording information to that of the error correction block unit, a recording means recording the recording information output from the converting means to the recording medium, and a control means controlling stop and start of recording processing of the recording means, wherein the control means stops recording processing in an initial first recording unit of the error correction block when recording processing is stopped, and starts recording processing from the first recoding unit in which the recording processing is stopped when recording processing is started.
