Novel anticonvulsant derivative salts

Disclosed are crystalline sodium or potassium salts of topiramate (formula (I)) and processes of forming them wherein the salt of the compound of formula (I) is formed at the sulfamate group. Also disclosed are pharmaceutical compositions containing the above salts.
