PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an acoustically stable ultrasonic probe with high reliability, and to provide a manufacturing method therefor. SOLUTION: The ultrasonic probe includes a plurality of ultrasonic transducers, a flexible printed wiring board including a plurality of first wiring portions, on the upper surface of a base member, each of which has a width smaller than the width of each ultrasonic transducer in the array direction, and a lining layer provided on the second surface of the base member. In a cutting step for the ultrasonic transducers, cutting is performed, such that a blade passes through between the adjacent first wiring portions, as well as the lining layer is cut partway.
