PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polymerizer for polymerizable dental material and a method for determining degree of polymerization, producing the optimum polymerization effect without any additional cost. SOLUTION: This polymerizer 10 for polymerizable dental material 14 includes a light source and/or a heat source (18 or 20), thereby causing the dental material 14 to collide. The polymerizer further includes a control device 216 and a sensor 24 connected to the control device 26, wherein the sensor 24 detects a radioactive ray (natural radiation) radiated from the dental material 14 having a predetermined wavelength.
