The method involves obtaining digital medical image data (Bn, Bn - 1) from a number of subjects. The image data from the respective subjects are merged to obtain a three-dimensional digital image dataset. The three-dimensional digital image dataset are electronically analyzed multiple times with regard to a number of medical electronic diagnosis methods to identify a significant anatomical region, applicable for diagnosis by the electronic medical diagnosis methods. Data corresponding to the significant region, from the three-dimensional digital image dataset is made available as an output. An independent claim is included for a device.
