PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To decrease the processing load of executing a program and various processings on a processor, and increase the speed of processing received data by discriminating highly rapidly the classification of the received data, in a printing controlling apparatus. SOLUTION: In a printer controller 201 processing a printing job by a CPU 202 realizing various processing by practicing the program and a hardware circuit cooperating with the CPU 202, the classification of the packet is judged based on a header part of the packet stored in a FIFO memory 205 for a host. When it is judged as a command packet, the packet is provided to the CPU 202. When it is judged as a data packet, the hardware circuit performs a processing which transfers printing data in the data part of the packet from the FIFO memory 205 for the host to an SDRAM 207.
