The invention relates to the metallurgy and concerns chemical and thermal treatment of steel pieces. A method includes diffusion saturation of pieces with boron in the course of thermal cycling in therange of temperatures of 900-940 DEGREE C and by 30-50 DEGREE C below Ar1 during 0.5-1 hours with an amount of treatment cycles of 4-6, isothermal boronizing at temperatures of 880-920 DEGREE C during 1.0-2.0 hours, auxiliary thermocyclic treatment in the melt of sodium chloride in the range of temperatures by 30-50 DEGREE C higher than Ac3 and by 30-50 DEGREE C lower than Ar1 with an amount of treatment cycles of 4-6 and bainitic hardening from the temperature of 880 DEGREE C in the melts of salts of such composition, % by weight: Na2B4O7 - 35, NaCl - 10, Na2NO2 - 35 and KNO3 - 20 at the temperature of isothermal soaking of 320-350 DEGREE C.The technical result is in increase in wear resistance of finished steel products, reduction of the total time of treatment.
