<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve maintainability by facilitating the attachment/detachment of a cartridge equipped with a developing device and a belt holder equipped with a belt member in an image forming apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: In the image forming apparatus, the cartridge which holds at least the developing device and the belt holder which holds the belt member coming into contact with the cartridge are constituted to be attached to/detached from a main body by a guide mechanism in the same direction in an almost horizontal direction. The guide mechanism is provided with structure where the cartridge or the belt holder is locked by a spring member, and the locking is released when the cartridge or the belt holder is drawn out. Thus, they are drawn out or attached in the same direction, and attaching/detaching operation is facilitated, so that the maintainability is improved. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
