PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To completely burn fuel oil so as not to produce a large quantity of soot even when resuming operation after a long stop. SOLUTION: In this gun type oil burner device, a high pressure air supply pipe 8 extended from an air compressor 9, with a solenoid valve 10 for air and a check valve 11 interposed in series from the upstream side is connected to the downstream side of a check valve 6 of a fuel supply pipe 3 with a fuel pump 4, a solenoid valve 5 for fuel and the check valve 6 interposed in series from the upstream side and with a nozzle 7 connected to the downstream end. After the stop of oil supply to the nozzle 7 due to the operation stop of the fuel pump 4, a controller C opens the solenoid valve 10 for air to eject high pressure air from the nozzle 7 to thereby blow away and discharge fuel oil downstream of a connection part between the fuel supply pipe 3 and the high pressure air supply pipe 8.
