PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric power steering device enabling smooth steering operation with no incompatible sense by gradually starting steering torque relative to a steering angle at low vehicle speed. SOLUTION: The electric power steering device is provided with steering angle detection means 27, 34, and an actual steering angle speed operation means 40. A multiplication coefficient value k operated based on steering torque T and a vehicle speed v by a multiplication count operation means 36 is multiplied on a base correction steering angle speedωmb operated by a base correction steering angle speed operation means 35 based on the detected steering angleθand a target steering angle speedωm is operated by adding an addition coefficient value S operated based on the steering torque T and the vehicle speed v by an addition count operation means 37. The device is provided with target steering angle speed operation means 38, 39; correction current operation means 41, 42 each operating a correction current value Is based on a difference of the target steering angle speedωm and the actual steering angle speedω; and an assist target current operation means 43 for adding the correction current value Is to an assist base current value Ib to generate an assist target current Io.
