<p>#CMT# #/CMT# Apparatus for making plastic identification units having an identifying mark comprises an injection molding die with an opening for forming the unit, a device for generating the identifying mark, a writing device for applying the identifying mark to a label, and a positioning device for placing the label against a wall of the opening in the die before injection molding. #CMT# : #/CMT# Independent claims are also included for: (1) making plastic identification units having an identifying mark by supplying an unwritten label to apparatus as above, generating the identifying mark, applying the identifying mark to the label, introducing the label into the injection molding die, and injection molding an identification unit so that the label is incorporated into the unit in such a way that the information on the label is visible in the finished unit; (2) ear tag component made as above; (3) ear tag comprising male and female parts, at least one of which is made as above. #CMT#USE : #/CMT# The apparatus is especially useful for making ear tags for animals. #CMT#ADVANTAGE : #/CMT# The label is incorporated into the identification unit during manufacture rather than being stuck onto a finished unit (compare ). #CMT#MECHANICAL ENGINEERING : #/CMT# Preferred Apparatus: The identifying mark is in the form of visible information.
