<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To uniformly cool the power generation surface of a fuel cell after operation stoppage of the fuel cell, and even if the surrounding temperature of the fuel cell drops below the freezing point or lower and freezes, deterioration of the fuel cell is prevented. <P>SOLUTION: At normal operation, the operating temperature of the fuel cell stack 22 is maintained appropriately in the passage of the fuel cell stack 22, three-way valve 31, coolant tank 28, a radiator 28, a three-way valve 34, and a fuel cell stack 22. After the stoppage of power generation, the coolant is recovered once to a coolant tank 27. A control unit 42, after the stop of power generation, if the temperature difference, between the temperature detected by a stack internal temperature sensor 37 and the temperature detected by a stack surrounding temperature sensor 38, exceeds a first prescribed value, cools the coolant and then introduces it into the fuel cell stack 22. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
