PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a smooth muscle relaxant which facilitates its production and procurement of a raw material since a physiologically active substance having an action to relax smooth muscle is extracted from a comparatively simply cultivable microorganism (Myxomycete), and an extraction method for its active ingredient.

SOLUTION: The smooth muscle relaxant has an extract of an Myxomycete as an active ingredient.
