PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a two step actuator control apparatus in which power consumption other than at the time of read-operation or write-operation of data can be reduced. SOLUTION: A coarse first stage servo control part 10a is constituted of a digital controller designed in accordance with a property of a coarse actuator mechanical part 3. A signal generating part 29 is constituted of combination of time function in which a jogging actuator mechanism part 4 is driven in a saving power state in accordance with an instruction from the high order group (not illustrated). A first stage/second stage servo switching part 28 judges whether read-operation of data is performed or write-operation is performed, or generates switching signals 40 to 42 of the first step servo or the second step servo for switching parts 30 to 32 in accordance with request of saving power operation from the high order group.
