<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a print data edit apparatus and a print data edit program whereby a background is variously rendered. <P>SOLUTION: The background image selected by a background selection screen is arranged according to a setting condition by a background size screen and a background layout screen. On the background size screen, whether or not the background image is laid out while being expanded / contracted, whether or not the background image is expanded / contracted while maintaining a reference direction or an aspect ratio, and when the background image is protruded, whether or not the background image is laid out can be set. Further, on the background layout screen, whether the background images are arranged at an equal interval or deviatedly arranged, and when the background images are deviatedly arranged, in which direction and how much the background images are deviated, with which value of a medium to be printed the background image is arranged can be set.
