A mandrel for molding a container bottom allowing the fitting of a container blank thereon when the portion of a square tubular container blank (B) forming the container bottom is sealingly folded in a flat shape, comprising a cylindrical mandrel body (31) having four contact parts (41) along which the four corner parts of the container blank (B) are positioned, a bottom plate (32) closing the base end of the mandrel body (31), and a top plate (33) closing the tip of the mandrel body (31). The mandrel body (31) is a molded thin-walled pipe. A recessed part (42) in cross section is formed between the adjacent contact parts (41).
