PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily perform processing related to file management at high speed even if the size of a working memory is small and to correctly manage a file. SOLUTION: DSC1 (or storage 2) has a file managing apparatus managing the file stored in a picture storage part 12 (or 18) by using a management information file. The management information is formed of main management information for managing the whole object of management and auxiliary management information for managing a part of the object of management.
