PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem that as the rigidity of a member kept into contact with the fluid of high pressure among the members constituting a fluid bearing is not enough, the fluid bearing is deformed and can not retain its expected shape, and the allowable load of the bearing is lowered. SOLUTION: Front and rear opposite discs 36, 38 are mounted in opposition to a rotary disc 26 rotated integrally with a shaft, through the rotary disc 26. The front opposite disc 36 has the shape to increase the pressure of the fluid with respect to the rotary disc 26, that is, has a radiation groove 50 and a pocket groove 52, and further is elastically supported by a spring 40 at its back face. As the rigidity of the front opposite disc 36 itself is sufficiently high, the deformation by the pressure generated in the fluid is not substantially generated. The displacement by whirling of the shaft and the rotary disc 26 is absorbed by the deformation of the spring 40, and a predetermined clearance is kept. Whereby the expected load can be achieved.
