The lorry has a container (4) with intake, and a pick-up and emptying unit (6) for a refuse bin, paper bin, etc. The unit has a grab arm (9) pivoting on a shaft (10), with a grab fork (18) at the front end moving through 90[deg]. The grab fork engages around a bin and under the upper projecting bin edge. A lever projection extending from the fork is hinged with one end to an actuator rod. The inner rod end is hinged to a lever projection, which extends downwards from the shaft. The shaft is pivoted by a knob or a crank, and this also operates conveyor worms to move the refuse from the intake (7) into the container.
