<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide new consumables at lower prices than normal prices, when the consumables have reached the lifetime earlier than the average. <P>SOLUTION: When the light source lamp of a projector 100 reaches its life expectancy, the user of the projector 100 accesses the projector 100 by using a client PC 200 and acquires an accumulated operating time of the light source lamp. Then, the client PC 200 transmits the accumulated operating time to a server 300 for trading the consumables. The server 300 for trading the consumables obtains charges for the light source lamp in accordance with the accumulated operating time thus received. At this time, the charges are obtained so that they become less expensive than the regular charges if the received accumulated operating time is shorter than the standard accumulated operating time.
