CLEANING APPARATUS, PROCESS CARTRIDGE, AND IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cleaning apparatus which can effectively remove toner and depositing substances on an image carrying body or on a recording member supporting body even in an image forming apparatus which uses a spheric toner having a small particle size, and which can maintain its cleaning function for a long period. SOLUTION: The cleaning apparatus is equipped with two blades of, from the upstream side along the moving direction of the image carrying body 1, 10 or the recording member supporting body 24, a first cleaning blade 8a and a second cleaning blade 8b. The second cleaning blade 8b is a polishing blade having an abrasive powder-containing layer 8b-1 comprising abrasive particles incorporated into an elastic material. The volume fraction of the abrasive particles on the contact face formed by the polishing blade 8b in contact with the image carrying body 1, 10 or the recording member supporting body 24 is≥50% and≤90%.
