PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to execute a more advanced editing in any editing devices irrespective of kinds of the editing devices. SOLUTION: This editing device can execute the more advanced editing irrespective of kinds of the editing devices by generating non-linear editing sequence data based on a SMIL file SF10 in which the editorial contents for generating the sequence data SD10 by editing video data VD10 to VD12 and audio data AD10 and AD11 are described in SMIL, performing the editing to the non-linear edit sequence data NSD10, and generating the SMIL file SF10 according to the editing.
