PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To normally and regularly stop a motor at the time when electric power source abnormality such as power failure occurs, and to restrain enlargement and cost increase of a device. SOLUTION: In a wire saw, a wire for cutting is driven by a motor 25 for roller driving controlled by servo amplifiers 42A, 42B, a motor 11A for bobbin driving, etc. A capacitor C is provided on the servo amplifier 42B of the motor 11A and electric power for decelerating driving is backed up by it. The motor 25 is made in a non-control state and is naturally decelerated in stopping electric power supply, rotating speed of the motor 25 is found in accordance with output of an encoder built in this motor 25, and the motor 11A is braked and controlled by a control device 50 so as to follow this rotating speed.
