THE GAS TO BE TREATED CONTAINING CO2 AND AN AMOUNT OF LIQUID HYDROCARBONS OF MORE THAN 14 LITRES PER 106 M3 (STP) OF GAS, IS BROUGHT INTO CONTACT, IN AN ABSORPTION ZONE, WITH AN ABSORBENT LIQUID CONSISTING OFAN AQUEOUS SOLUTION OF METHYLDIETHANOLAMINE AND AN ACTIVATOR CONSISTING OF AN AMINOALKYLETHANOLAMINE, INORDER TO PRODUCE A TREATED GAS WITH REDUCED CO2 CONTENT AND AN ABSORBENT LIQUID LOADED WITH CO2. THIS LOADED ABSORBENT LIQUID IS SUBJECTED TO A REGENERATION TREATMENT IN ORDER TO RELEASE THE CO2 WHICH IT HAS BOUND, AND TO PRODUCE A GAS FRACTION RICH IN CO2 AND A REGENERATED ABSORBENT LIQUID WHICH IS RECYCLED INTO THE ABSORPTION ZONE. APPLICATION TO THE DEACIDIFICATION, IN PARTICULAR, OF NATURAL GASES CONTAINING CO2, LIQUIDHYDROCARBONS AND POSSIBLY H2S.
