PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To mix weeds with soil existing in an area extremely near to a ground surface, to cut stems and roots which have already come to the surface or have been still left in the soil, and further to remove the weeds more efficiently when compared with a weeding operation brought about by a cultivation operation using a cropper, etc. SOLUTION: A polygonal blade is formed by giving edges to all of peripheral sides of a polygon, wherein an assembled hollow polygonal blade, a unitary polygonal blade, a solid polygonal blade, and an irregular polygonal blade are each exemplified as the polygonal blade. When the blade is used in a manual weeding operation, an operator holds the blade through a handle attached thereto, without bending the operator's back, then moves forward or backward, while repeating reciprocal sliding movement of the blade in the backward and forward direction. Further, a motorized weeding operation is conducted in a similar manner to the manual weeding operation, by only changing an arrangement of a drive unit and a handle-fixing attachment.
