A rack carries one or more upright yarn spools on commensurate series of upright pins resting on a circular base. The rack is loaded and unloaded in a matching sub-surface pit. As seen in plan form the rack consists of two linked semi-circular units (1, 2) and has numerous spindle rods (4). The base has a lifting post located over the centre of gravity.
