PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mobile terminal in which even a long message can be displayed without unnecessarily shifting lines and power consumption in the case of reading the message can be reduced. SOLUTION: The mobile terminal including a communication function is equipped with a main display part 30, an illuminated display part 10 that is a subordinate display part for displaying message with illumination, an input part 70 and the like. When reading electronic mail with image, image data are displayed on the main display part 30, message data are dispatched to an illuminated display control part, lighting of display units is controlled for illuminated display on the illuminated display part 10, and the message data are displayed on the illuminated display part 10 as illuminated display characters. As display control on the illuminated display part 10, in addition to temporary stop/cancelby a user, a moving direction of the illuminated display characters, its moving speed and the like can be designated from a user. Besides, data of a history of communications with a specific communication destination in the past are time-sequentially and successively displayed with illumination, thereby reproducing the electronic mail exchanged in the past with moving illuminated display characters as a conversation.
