PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem that an optimum operation cannot be performed in a limited capacity range when starting a main scanning motor and a sub scanning motor by using a power supply device that is limited in capacity. SOLUTION: The control device for a motor comprises: a priority setting means 51 which sets priority with respect to a starting command; a history holding means 52 which holds the starting command as a history; an operation permission means 54 which gives operation permission for the held starting command in the order according to the priority and does not give operation permission to a starting command generated after the generation of a starting command by which the sum of the maximum quantity of a current, which becomes usable by a prescribed motor when the operation permission is given, exceeds the capacity of the power supply device 21; and operation control means 56, 58 which operate motors 1, 11 to which the operation permissions are given from the operation permission means 54, and stop the motors 1, 11 to which the operation permissions are not given.
