PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stably shorten a static charge eliminating period. SOLUTION: When an object to be destaticized A is charged on a positive polarity side, and a large amount of negative ions are detected, a control circuit 2 controls an on-off control of a switch 4, by setting the number of times of making the duty ratio approximately 60% taking information of distance into account, by which, regardless of the distance between a discharging needle 6 and the object to be destaticized A, an optimum ion generation amount can be set, since an absolute value of a negative voltage level corresponding to the polarity identical to the negative polarity can be set higher than an absolute value of a positive voltage level corresponding to the reversed polarity, and the object can be quickly and stably destaticized by taking the distance between the discharging needle 6 and the object to be destaticized A into account.
