PURPOSE: Provided is a method for operating a compressor in kimchi refrigerator to minimize the operation frequency of the compressor, increasing the operation efficiency thereof, and reducing electricity consumption of the kimchi refrigerator. CONSTITUTION: A method for operating a compressor in kimchi refrigerator is characterized in that if one of kimchi storage chambers is under the condition for operating the compressor, the compressor is operated, and if all of the kimchi storage chambers are under the condition for stopping the operation of the compressor, the compressor is stopped. Therefore, it prevents the compressor from being operated many times within a short period of time.
