PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a member for reinforcing a vehicle body that can optimize a bending reaction and the absorbed energy characteristic, in the member required to assure a high bending reaction in a dynamic large deformation area and to exhibit a high absorbed energy characteristic until the large deformation is made. SOLUTION: This member for reinforcing a vehicle body has a hollow multangular section with rounding portions on both angular portions on a plane perpendicular to a direction of load input, and has vehicle reinforcing members 1A to 1C whose curvature radius R (mm) of the outside in a direction of the board thickness of the angular portion falls in 1≥R > 0 and optimizes the bending reaction and the absorbed energy characteristic.
