PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a faucet capable of saving water by decreasing work leaving water as it is discharged hot water or the like flowing when hands are not used. SOLUTION: A conical packing 5 is used for the faucet, and it is operated. When a user works a pedal, a cam is rotated by a cam lever, a wire drum attached to the cam is also rotated, and since a wire 1 is wound on the drum, the wire 1 is pulled out, the lever 9 is rotated to lift up a water volume adjusting nut 2, and the conical packing is raised to run water from a gap. When the user works again the pedal, the cam is rotated, and the gap of the conical packing is slightly widened to increase water volume. When the user works a reset pedal, the cam is returned to the origin by force of a cam return spring, so that the conical packing is lowered downward to stop water by eliminating the gap.
