PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lens shape machining method and a device thereof capable of realizing excellent productivity and performing face shape generating machining of a glasses lens and lens shape machining by one device. SOLUTION: While the glasses lens 12 is rotated around a rotary axis C of a workpiece in the direction of thickness of the glasses lens 12 by a workpiece rotation means 3, a tool 54 or the glasses lens 12 is reciprocated in the orthogonal direction to the rotary axis of the workpiece in synchronization with the rotation of the glasses lens 12 by a workpiece drive means 4 and a tool drive means 5. On the other hand, the tool 54 or the glasses lens 12 is reciprocated in the direction parallel with the rotary axis C of the workpiece in synchronization with the rotation of the glasses lens 12.
