PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To adapt these defined pulses as a function of the type of a recording medium as to an apparatus in the form of a data recording device for writing data on a recording medium, notably an optical disc. SOLUTION: The device 1 has a recording device 3 for writing data usable through a terminal 5. The optical disk has a write characteristic, so write pulses representing data to be stored have different forms.
