PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a electric speed changing operation mechanism for a bicycle capable of smoothly and quickly performing speed changing operation which is closely related to braking operation and accelerating operation (actions stepping on pedals) between a braking operation and accelerating operation. SOLUTION: This mechanism includes an attachment part fixed on the handle of the bicycle, a brake lever swingably supported by the attachment part and braking the bicycle, and electrical switches 14 for operating a speed change mechanism of the bicycle. The electrical switches 14 exists an adjacent position of a brake lever braking operation grip part and is supported by the brake lever itself as one body in a back side of the brake lever in a bicycle traveling direction. An open and close operation part 22D, 22U opening and closing an electrical switch can be moved in a direction crossing with a plane on which the brake lever swings at roughly right angles.
