PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a pair of massaging elements from giving a pain to a sitting person owing to impact caused when the elements come into contact with a back of the sitting person while pressure bags are reduced, in a composite massaging chair which is provided with the massaging elements and the pressure bags. SOLUTION: In the composite massaging chair which is provided with the massaging elements 4 and the pressure bags 5, and whose massaging elements 4 are disposed in a projected position P where the massaging elements come into contact with the back of the sitting person by projecting forward from a backrest face 21, while whose pressure bags 5 are provided on the backrest face 21 so that surfaces 51 of the bags are positioned backward from foremost end portions of the massaging elements 4 when the bags are reduced, a retreating mechanism 8 is provided which can move the massaging elements 4 from the projected position P to a retreated position Q positioning backward from the projected position P and can hold the elements in the retreated position Q wile massaged by the pressure bags 5.
