PURPOSE: A data storage server using a wireless LAN(Local Area Network) is provided to install the wireless LAN and process data input and output signals inputted through various networks by wireless. CONSTITUTION: A wireless LAN unit(3) processes a wireless signal through a wireless LAN access point(2). A data storing unit(4) controls the storing and reproducing functions of transmission data inputted and outputted through the wireless LAN unit(3). The wireless LAN unit(3) has an interface(19) for interfacing a data signal outputted from the data storing unit(4) or a transmission signal of the wireless LAN access point(2) outputted from a lower terminal, and a memory controller(22) for temporarily storing the data signal inputted through the interface(19) in a flash memory(20) or an SRAM(Static RAM)(21). The wireless LAN unit(3) has a control unit(23) for controlling a function for converting the data signal read from the flash memory(20) or the SRAM(21) through the memory controller(22) by a WEP(Wired Equivalent Privacy) or an IEEE(Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers) 802.11 MAC(Media Access Control). The wireless LAN unit(3) has a wireless access interface(24) for inputting the data signal interfaced to the control unit(23), and an IEEE 802.11 wireless unit(26) for processing the data signal inputted through the wireless access interface(24), as a wireless LAN signal and transmitting the wireless LAN signal to the wireless LAN access point(2) through an antenna(25). The wireless LAN unit(3) has a physical layer interface(27) for connecting to the wireless access interface(24) and interfacing an inputted and outputted communication as a physical layer signal, and an IEEE 802.11 MAC protocol engine(28) for connecting to the physical layer interface(27) and processing an inputted and outputted signal by a MAC protocol type.
