DOUBLE ARMORED SUBMARINE CABLE WITH WEAR DETECTING FUNCTION AND ITS LAYING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a doubled armored submarine cable with a wear detecting function and its laying method which can be applied even when FRP wires are connected capable of detecting an occurring position of wear and providing cable endurance for tension force and bending moment applied upon cable laying or picking up by clarifying specifications of the FRP wires. SOLUTION: In the double armored submarine cable, the covered FRP wires 7 are arranged around a power cable core 1 via a seat bed 2 and anticorrosive wires 5 are arranged via a seat bed 4. Covered metal wires 8 are arranged between the covered FRP wires 7, and covered metal wires 9 are arranged in an inner layer of an inner side armor. The FRP wires are connected by applying an adhesive to an inner wall of a sleeve, inserting the FRP wires from both openings of the sleeve and hardening the adhesive. The FRP wires are connected at places with an interval. When laying the cable, a length of the interval between FRP wire connecting parts is longer than a cable length from a pontoon to a cable bottoming point.
