PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect panel inside temperature and wire break without changing structure of a panel, using an external sensor, and without having influence on the image display performance. SOLUTION: This display device using a flat panel having a fluorescent film and a mask on which high voltage is applied on a front glass surface and having an electron source on an opposing rear glass surface and penetrating wire for driving the electron source, is provided with a panel inside temperature detecting means by the penetrating wire or a penetrating wire break abnormality detecting means.
