PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for using a composition which contains a BPI protein and an anionic compound, (1) does not exhibit biocidal activity, and (2) exhibits endotoxic neutralization and the BPI protein. SOLUTION: The method is for measuring the amount of endotoxin in a sample obtained from a subject and for determining the amount of the endotoxin in the sample by bringing the sample into contact with the BPI protein under condition that a complex of the endotoxin and the BPI protein is formed and measuring the amount of the formed complex. |
