The fruit press has an upper hemispherical shell (21) attached to a handle (7) and a lower, perforated hemispherical shell (2), between which half of a citrus fruit is squeezed, as in DE10111524. The improvement is that a stay is attached to the handle which forms a tangent with the upper surface of the upper shell.
