<p>A method for producing hydrogen by contacting water, steam or a gas containing steam with iron or iron oxide, characterized in that a metal except iron (for example, Ti, Zr, V, Nb, Cr, Mo, Al, Ga, Mg, Sc, Ni or Cu) is added in addition to iron or iron oxide. The method provides a hydrogen-generating medium which achieves a high rate of hydrogen generation, can prevent the activity of hydrogen generation from being decreased and has good durability to the repeat of oxidation and reduction.</p> |
