PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a satisfactory recording and reproducing characteristics corresponding to high recording density. SOLUTION: A magnetic domain controlling layer 12 consisting of a Mn based anti-ferromagnetic material, an intermediate layer 13 consisting of a non-magnetic conductive material, a backing layer 14 consisting of a soft magnetic material and a magnetic recording layer 15 in which a magnetic domain is formed corresponding to a recorded magnetic signal are successively laminated on a substrate. The magnetic domain controlling layer 12 and the backing layer 14 are magnetically fixed through the intermediate layer 13. Thus, the generation of the domain wall displacement in the backing layer 14 can be prevented.
