PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a versatile walking stick with an adjustable cushioning function in various environments to use the walking stick. SOLUTION: The walking stick is equipped with an adjustable means to adjust the amount of lowering an upper pipe. The adjustable means 70 has an adjusting shaft 71 suspended from a securing part 34 securing a turning member 30 concentrically with the securing part 34 and a shaft inserting part 80 to be inserted into and secured to the upper end of a second pipe 12. Since the large or small amount of lowering a first pipe upper side pipe 11 can be selected alternatively by the adjustable means 70 like this, the extending and contracting amount of the main part 10 of the walking stick can be made appropriate depending on the angle of inclination of a slope, etc.
