PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily and inexpensively provide a housing having superior anti- corrosiveness, heat resistance and wear resistance only by giving plating treatment to the housing for an exhaust brake device. SOLUTION: The exhaust brake device 1 has an annular housing 2 and a valve element 5 rotatably provided in the housing and adapted to be operated by an actuator 3 for opening/closing an exhaust pipe. The plating treatment is given to the housing 2. The plating treatment is preferably electroless Ni-P plating treatment and it is preferably given to the whole housing 2.
