PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a metal-ceramics composite material in which the dispersion of ceramics powder being a reinforcing material is uniform even if Si is incorporated into an aluminum alloy as a matrix, and to provide a method for producing the composite material. SOLUTION: In the metal-ceramics composite material for casting obtained by compounding ceramics powder as a reinforcing material into aluminum or an aluminum alloy being the matrix, the aluminum alloy contains at least Si and TiB2.
