摘要 PURPOSE: Provided is a process for producing a catalyst for polymerizing or copolymerizing ethylene, wherein the catalyst has improved activity and can produce polymers with high apparent density. CONSTITUTION: The catalyst is produced by a process comprising the steps of: preparing a magnesium solution by reacting a magnesium halogenide compound and an alcohol; reacting the resultant with an ester compound containing at least one hydroxy group and a silicon compound having an alkoxy group and then reacting the resultant with a mixture of a titanium compound such as titanium tetrachloride and a silicon compound such as silicon tetrachloride to produce a solid component, wherein the ester compound is 2-hydroxy ethylacrylate; reacting the solid component with an aluminium compound and a haloalkane compound and then reacting with a titanium compound, wherein the aluminium compound is triethyl aluminium.
