PURPOSE: A certifying system based on a hand shape is provided to connect to various kinds of systems for a security by photographing and obtaining a hand shape of an individual and constructing a database based on the hand shape, thereby checking an identity of an individual. CONSTITUTION: A hand shape certification device(10) has a storing unit for recording a hand image using a three-dimensional image(size, length, and thickness) and calculates an average of a measuring result of more than predetermined numbers and stores the average as a template. The template is updated whenever a certification is approved, and a variation of a hand may be judged accurately. A personal computer(20) receives data of the hand shape certification device(10) through an interface unit and controls and processes the data using a stored program. A printer(40) is provided for outputting data stored in the personal computer(20) and connected to the personal computer(20). The printer(40) may be connected to the hand shape certification device(10) or a host computer(30). The host computer(30) is provided for storing and controlling data inputted from at least one personal computer(20).
